Real Madrid Rejects Alonso's Request for New Midfielder
Real Madrid's management has rejected coach Xabi Alonso's request to sign a new midfielder during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Alonso's request aimed to strengthen his squad, which is currently grappling with injuries and sits second in La Liga, four points behind Barcelona.
The Royal club's management believes its current midfield options are sufficient, boasting prominent players such as Jude Bellingham, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga, Arda Güler, Dani Ceballos, and Federico Valverde.
The management also cited the availability of academy players like Thiago Pitarch and Jorge Cestero as reasons for not needing a new signing.
This decision is reminiscent of a previous incident where Alonso's desire for Luka Modrić to remain at the Santiago Bernabéu was overridden, leading to the player's departure to Milan.
