Review of Top Young Talents Born in 2007: Yamal Leads, Cubarsí Celebrates
Six months after the initial ranking, a review of the top 30 young players born in 2007 has revealed their continued development and progress in their football careers. Leading this list is Barcelona's Lamine Yamal, who won the Kopa Trophy for the second time last September and finished second in the Ballon d'Or race, despite some injury concerns.
In a related development, his Barcelona teammate Pau Cubarsí, ranked second, celebrated his 100th appearance for the Catalan club on December 16. Estêvão Willian, ranked sixth, also continues to impress with Chelsea, having scored three goals in his last three Champions League matches and five goals for the Brazilian national team in six international appearances.
The recent period also saw Franco Mastantuono, ranked seventh, make his debut for Real Madrid, becoming an Argentine international. Juan Gado, ranked 20th from Salzburg, is expected to move to another club, with Bayern Munich Sporting Director Christoph Freund stating: “We noticed how well he plays and that he is already a complete defender. He brought great stability to Salzburg's defense.”
Additionally, Giovanni Queiroz, ranked eighth from Sporting, who contributed to four goals in the Champions League, will complete his move to Chelsea next summer. Charalambos Kostoulas, ranked 18th, joined Brighton for €35 million and made his Premier League debut in mid-October.
