Salah in Morocco: Christmas Celebration and AFCON Brilliance
Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, currently in Morocco for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which kicked off on December 21, continued his annual tradition of posting a Christmas celebration photo. On Thursday, Salah shared a picture of his two daughters with a Christmas tree, accompanied by a heart emoji and the caption "Merry Christmas." Salah's own absence from the photo drew attention from internet users, noting that this tradition, which he has maintained since 2019, has previously faced criticism from some followers.
On the football front, Salah scored the winning goal for the Egyptian national team against Zimbabwe in a 2-1 victory on Monday, as part of the continental tournament's fixtures.
In a related development, Egypt's national team coach Hossam Hassan defended him, stating: "I feel he is very motivated. Salah is an icon and will remain so. He is one of the best players in the world, and I support him in everything he does."
Salah is preparing for another match against South Africa on Friday, December 26, as he aims to secure his first Africa Cup of Nations title after losing two previous finals.
