Former Player Reveals New Real Sociedad Coach's Style
Former Bundesliga player Gonzalo Castro has offered insights into the coaching style of Real Sociedad's new manager, Pellegrino Matarazzo. Matarazzo took over the team from Sergio Francisco with the primary goal of ensuring the club's survival in the top flight.
Castro described Matarazzo as a "very intelligent" coach known for his attacking approach, while also carefully considering defensive aspects. Castro emphasized Matarazzo's attention to detail, stating: "With Matarazzo, I learned to take details into account; he gives them great importance, and they help you."
Castro highlighted Matarazzo's flexibility in employing various formations, such as 3-5-2 or 3-4-3, and his ability to adapt to players. He also praised Matarazzo for his humble approach, strong group management, and engaging, ball-focused training sessions.
Castro, who follows Real Sociedad due to his interest in player Mikel Merino, expressed his hope that Matarazzo will be able to improve the team's performance.
