Diogo Jota's Sons to Honour Late Father at Liverpool vs. Wolves Match
Anfield will witness a poignant tribute on Saturday as the late Diogo Jota's sons, Denis and Duarte, serve as mascots for the Premier League match between Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
This tribute honours their father, Diogo Jota, who tragically passed away in a car accident last July at the age of 28. Jota died alongside his younger brother, André Silva, in northwest Spain.
This fixture holds particular significance as it marks the first encounter between Jota's former clubs, Wolverhampton, whom he joined in 2017, and Liverpool, with whom he signed in 2020 and won the league, since his passing.
The player's wife, Ruth Cardoso, and their sons also attended the opening Premier League matches for both Liverpool and Wolverhampton in August. As a mark of respect, Liverpool Football Club retired Jota's number 20 shirt.
