Amorim Confident in Manchester United Despite Major Absences Ahead of Newcastle Clash

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has expressed his confidence ahead of the Boxing Day clash against Newcastle United, despite a lengthy injury list affecting his squad.

The Red Devils will be without Kobbie Mainoo, and the team will also miss captain Bruno Fernandes, who is set to miss the entire Christmas schedule due to a hamstring injury, with his return not expected before late January. Additionally, Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt will not be available for the match.

In a statement, Amorim said: “I am confident we can win any game. Of course, we have some problems, but I believe in the team even without many players at this moment, and I think we can win any game.”

Amorim hinted at a greater role for Jack Fletcher, who made his debut against Aston Villa, and praised the young players. Regarding Fernandes's absence, the manager added: “It’s impossible to replace Bruno, but I told the team this morning, I think we need to take the positive side, if there is one, which is that a lot of players have to step up their game.”
