Francis Ngannou Places Huge Bet on Cameroon Winning AFCON 2025
Cameroonian mixed martial arts fighter Francis Ngannou has announced a substantial bet on his home nation, Cameroon, to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title.
On Monday, Ngannou shared details of his wager on his official Facebook account. The bet amounts to 320,000 euros, equivalent to 210 million CFA francs. He commented, "Entertain us, guys."
Should the Cameroonian national team, coached by David Pagou, secure the continental title, Ngannou stands to win 6.72 million euros. This bet follows reports indicating Ngannou's earnings of approximately 9.1 million euros from his fight against Tyson Fury in October 2023.
Cameroon, known as "The Indomitable Lions," is preparing to compete in Group F of the tournament. Their AFCON 2025 campaign is scheduled to kick off on Wednesday evening at 9 PM with a match against Gabon, featuring player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. They will also face Mozambique on Sunday at 8 PM and Ivory Coast on December 31st at 8 PM.
