Real Madrid Faces Vinicius Junior Contract Dilemma
Real Madrid is facing a dilemma regarding the future of its Brazilian player, Vinicius Junior, whose current contract expires in June 2027. The club must make a decision by 2026, either to extend his contract or consider selling him to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
This situation arises amid a recent decline in Vinicius's performance. He was booed by fans during the team's match against Sevilla and also reacted on his Instagram account after being substituted in the game.
Commenting on the situation, former Real Madrid goalkeeper Santi Cañizares stated on the program "El Partidazo de COPE": "His value, if based on what Vinicius is currently doing, certainly does not match the figures being circulated or those that will be on the table. But his value doesn't match, nor does it match the value of most Real Madrid players."
Cañizares added: "The player is asking his agent to push because his contract is short and expiring soon. Also, the club will have to pay for expectations and what he once was, because he was a great player who almost won the Ballon d'Or and won the Champions League by scoring goals."
