Real Madrid Loans Endrick to Lyon Without Purchase Option
Spanish club Real Madrid announced last Tuesday the loan of its 19-year-old young striker, Endrick, to French club Olympique Lyon. The loan period will run from January 1st of next year until June 30th of the following year, with confirmation that there is no permanent purchase option for the player by the French club.
This move aims to address Olympique Lyon's attacking deficiencies and provide continuity for Endrick, which he lacked under coaches Carlo Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid. Through this loan, Endrick aspires to participate in the 2026 World Cup and then return to Real Madrid to secure a prominent position in the squad.
Before his departure, Endrick promised his Real Madrid teammates that he "will succeed at Lyon to return better to Real Madrid." It is worth noting that Endrick featured in 37 matches for Real Madrid last season, scoring seven goals and providing one assist.
Earlier, coach Carlo Ancelotti commented on Endrick, stating: "He is young, he must learn. He must hit as hard as possible and not feel like he is in a theatrical club."
