Milan Signs German Striker Füllkrug on Loan
Italian club AC Milan is reportedly close to finalizing a loan deal for German striker Niclas Füllkrug from English club West Ham United.
The 32-year-old player is expected to join the Rossoneri on a loan agreement extending until June 30, with a non-obligatory purchase option valued at €13 million. Milan will cover his full salary.
Füllkrug is anticipated to arrive in Milan on Monday evening for a medical examination before commencing training with his new teammates on Wednesday. Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri sought to strengthen the attacking line following Santiago Giménez's ankle injury, which has sidelined him since October, in addition to Rafael Leão's recent muscle injury.
Füllkrug, who has scored three goals and provided two assists in 29 appearances for West Ham since summer 2024, had reportedly turned down offers from two German clubs. He could potentially make his debut for Milan as early as January 2 in a Serie A match against Cagliari, thanks to a special exception from the Italian Football Federation that allows players whose registration dates coincide with a match day to participate, provided electronic registration is completed before 4 PM on the day of the match.
