Napoli Crowned Italian Super Cup Champions Thanks to Hojlund's Brilliance
Italian club Napoli clinched the Italian Super Cup title after defeating Bologna 2-0 in the final match, which took place on December 22 at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh.
David Neres scored both of Napoli's goals in the final. Rasmus Hojlund played a significant role in this triumph, having scored a goal in the semi-final match against AC Milan and provided an assist for Neres' opening goal in that same game.
Following the victory, Hojlund posted a photo of himself with the trophy, commenting: "This is what a great decision looks like."
Napoli coach Antonio Conte commented on the win and Hojlund's performance, stating: "Hojlund and McTominay were not playing at Manchester United, so there must be a reason, considering the work my staff and I have done. I believe our mission is to expand a player's knowledge and make them stronger. I invest a lot in that, and I believe every player I have worked with has always improved technically, tactically, and mentally."
Hojlund joined Napoli in early September on loan from Manchester United for €6 million, with a €44 million purchase option that becomes mandatory if Napoli qualifies for the Champions League. His move is expected to become permanent for £38 million at the end of the season. He has scored 7 goals and provided two assists in 19 appearances this season.
