French club Olympique Lyonnais has officially announced the signing of young Brazilian forward Endrick, 19, from Spanish giants Real Madrid on a paid loan deal until the end of the current season. This loan cost Lyon one million euros, covering part of the player's salary. The club had been working on this deal since late August, leveraging its strong relationship with Real Madrid.

General Manager Michael Gerlinger and Technical Director Matthieu Louis-Jean played pivotal roles in finalizing the transfer. Former Lyon player Lucas Paquetá, currently at West Ham, also contributed to facilitating the move in an unexpected capacity.

John Textor, owner of Lyon, publicly expressed his support for the deal via Instagram, stating: “The traditions of Lyon continue. Forward Olympique Lyonnais.” Endrick, who has only played 99 minutes for Real Madrid this season, posted “Forward, youngsters!” and changed his profile picture.

Commenting on RMC, Daniel Riolo described the move as “a really big confirmation,” adding: “This is good for Lyon and for him; he needs to prove himself.” In contrast, Lyon legend Sidney Govou, speaking to Le Progrès newspaper, expressed some doubts regarding winter transfers and Endrick's potential integration into the team.

Endrick becomes the 29th Brazilian player to join Olympique Lyonnais, reflecting the club's long history with Brazilian talent.
