Heskey Brothers Make Manchester City Senior Debut
Jayden Heskey, 19, and Reigan Heskey, 17, sons of former England international Emile Heskey, made their senior debuts for Manchester City in the Carabao Cup match against Championship side Huddersfield.
The match, played on September 24, 2024, saw Manchester City secure a 2-0 victory. The starting lineup featured six players from Manchester City's academy, with a total of eight academy prospects, including the Heskey brothers, participating in the game.
Jayden Heskey, a midfielder who captains the U21 team, entered the match in the 76th minute as a substitute for Nico O'Reilly. Jayden joined City's academy at the age of eight, signed his first professional contract two years ago, and scored in the FA Youth Cup final in May 2024.
Reigan Heskey, a winger, came on in the 83rd minute, replacing Savinho. He also joined the academy at the age of eight, has played for the U21 team, and has made ten appearances for England's youth national teams.
Manager Pep Guardiola commented on the occasion, stating: “I think their father and mother will be proud of their sons. This is great.”
Their father, Emile Heskey, had previously told "The Mail" last August: “Although they play in different positions, they are like me, very physically strong. The younger one (Reigan) is very fast. The older one (Jayden) has tremendous physical strength like me.”
